Ex-Udinese exec Pierpaolo Marino lauds Roma for Gasperini-Ranieri-Massara trio | OneFootball

Former Udinese executive Pierpaolo Marino commented on Roma‘s recent appointments of manager Gian Piero Gasperini and Frederic Massara as sporting director.

Marino, who left Udinese in 2023, lauded the capital club’s decisions and expressed his optimism on their new, overhauled leadership combination.

“I have a very positive outlook on the trio of Gasperini-Ranieri-Massara,” he told calciomercato.it.

“The technical dialogue between Ranieri and Gasperini will be of the highest quality, with Ranieri moderating certain aspects of Gasperini’s style.”

He continued, “Gasperini offers extraordinary guarantees; he excels in athletic preparation, and we all know his tactical approach sets him apart. He is perhaps the only genuine innovator Serie A has seen in recent years.”

“As for Massara, most are aware of my relationship with him—I consider myself one of his mentors right alongside (Giovanni) Galeone.”

“I still remember when I acquired him at Pescara, it was his first experience outside Lombardia and he would often join me for dinner at my home.”
