Former Lazio goalkeeper Luca Marchegiani feels that against Juventus, Inter Milan were far too complacent in the second half.

Marchegiani spoke on Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInter1908. He also noted that there were far too many individual errors from the Nerazzurri.

For the third time this season, Inter Milan have slumped to defeat in Serie A.

And unlike in losses against AC Milan and Fiorentina, this wasn’t necessarily the result of the Nerazzurri being second best for ninety minutes.

In the first half in particular, Inter showed their strength. They outclassed Juventus, and created more and better chances.

But that counted for nothing, as the Nerazzurri were unable to find the back of the net with any of the opportunities that they had.

The Bianconeri, on the other hand, were clinical under the spotlight. Randal Kolo Muani and Francisco Conceicao combined to sink Inter’s ship.

Marchegiani Blasts Complacency & “Individual Errors” Vs Juventus From Inter Milan

Former Lazio and Torino keeper Luca Marchegiani commented that “It was a very intense match.”

“It was full of individual situations,” he noted.

Marchegiani said that Inter Milan “were able to get out of pressure, and it took courage.”

“Calhanoglu made the difficult passes, Barella came out of pressure, and Inter had a lot of promising moves.”

“But then Inter did poorly in the second half,” Marchegiani argued. “There were too many individual errors, giving the ball away constantly.”

“Juve had courage. They pressed with conviction and changed the game.”

Marchegiani also noted that “Zielinski was supposed to be the player who allows Mkhitaryan to take a breather.”

“And Taremi was supposed to do the same in attack,” he added.
