Former Inter Milan coach Andrea Stramaccioni reportedly saved two teenage girls from drowning while on vacation.
This according to Italian outlet FCInter1908. They report that the incident took place on Monday, with Stramaccioni declaring “I’m no hero” after receiving the commendation of the coast guard.
Andrea Stramaccioni spent a little over a year as coach of Inter Milan.
The Italian had initially held a role as the Nerazzurri’s youth team coach. However, he took over in the senior job in March of 2012, after the sacking of Claudio Ranieri.
Then, Stramaccioni spent the entirety of the 2012-13 season as Inter’s coach. However, he parted ways with the Nerazzurri in the summer of 2013, with Walter Mazzarri replacing him.

And this week, former Inter coach Stramaccioni has been in the news.
The 49-year-old has been on vacation with his family in the Baia di Sfinale in southern Italy.
Whilst on the beach during this vacation, Stramaccioni spotted two girls, aged 17 and 19, who were struggling with the current and the waves.
Stramaccioni therefore jumped into the water to drag the pair to safety on the shore.
After receiving a commendation from the coast guard, however, Stramaccioni insisted that “I’m no hero.”
“I just acted as though it were my family in the water,” said the former Inter coach.
“I didn’t think twice.” He added “I just want everyone to remember one thing: The most important thing is life.”
