Benjamin Pavard is ready to return from injury in Inter Milan’s Serie A clash with Venezia, while Francesco Acerbi and Hakan Calhanoglu are out.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter are heading straight back into action in Serie A this weekend. They’ll have to quickly bounce back from the crushing defeat against AC Milan in the Supercoppa Italiana final.
And the Nerazzurri will have a few injury situations to keep an eye on for their league match away to Venezia.
Former Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard is ready to make his return, reports the Gazzetta.
The 29-year-old has been on the sidelines for well over a month. He has been recovering from a thigh strain.
However, Pavard has recovered from his injury. Therefore, the Gazzetta anticipate, he will be in the squad for Sunday’s Serie A match against Venezia.
However, Pavard will only be on the bench for the match. Yann Bisseck will start.
Another player who is close to returning from a thigh injury of his own is defender Francesco Acerbi.
The veteran former Lazio and Sassuolo defender is not quite ready to return, however.
The Gazzetta report that Acerbi will instead target Inter’s midweek clash with Bologna.
Then, midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu is also targeting the match against Bologna for his own return. He picked up a slight thigh problem during the Supercoppa final against Milan.
Forward Joaquin Correa will also miss the match against Venezia with a slight injury, reports the Gazzetta.
