Midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu will speak to prosecutors on Wednesday as part of an investigation into Inter Milan ultras.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. They report that the 30-year-old will be asked about his interactions with arrested ultras leader Marco Ferdico.

Investigators in Italy have already spoken to a couple of high-profile figures at Inter.

There has been testimony from Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi, as well as Vice-President Javier Zanetti.

This has been to clarify what contacts there have been between official figures at Inter and the clubs’ ultras.

Prosecutors are looking to determine how the clubs may have partially facilitated the ultras’ activities.

To be clear, there is no investigation into any official figures at Inter. However, the prosecutors are still looking to collect testimony to better understand the ultras’ relationships with figures at the club.

Anti-mafia prosecutors made nineteen arrests last month. These were of leading members of Inter ultras group the Curva Nord and AC Milan counterparts the Curva Sud.

Prosecutors allege illegal activities as well as mafia connections from the Nord and the Sud.

According to Tuttosport, Calhanoglu will be the first Inter player to speak to prosecutors.

The 30-year-old former AC Milan midfielder will follow Inzaghi and Zanetti.

Calhanoglu will be back from international duty with Turkey tomorrow.

Therefore, the former AC Milan man will take a day to settle back in in Milan.

Then, on Wednesday of this coming week, Calhanoglu will give his testimony to investigators.

According to Tuttosport, the questions will revolve around a dinner that Calhanoglu had with arrested ultras leader Marco Ferdico in August of 2023.

Calhanoglu and Ferdico were at the dinner along with their families.

Also present at the dinner was Antonio Bellocco, an Inter fan with connections to the ‘ndrangheta organized crime family.

Investigators will look to understand what sort of relationship Calhanoglu had with Ferdico and the Curva Nord.
