A lot of the players from the core of this Inter squad have already won a Serie A title.

The likes of Nicolo Barella, Alessandro Bastoni, and Lautaro Martinez were among the core of the side that won the title in the 2020-21 season.

Then, veterans like Matteo Darmian, Stefan de Vrij, and Alexis Sanchez also played their part.

However, elsewhere in the team, there has been a lot of turnover since the 2020-21 season.

And that means that a lot of players will be getting their first taste of a league title.

Calhanoglu & Dimarco Ready To Clinch First Ever League Title With Inter

The Corriere della Sera posit that there are two Inter player for whom the title will be particularly special.

For midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu, this Scudetto will come as vindication.

The Turkish international had made the move to Inter in 2021, just after the Nerazzurri had won the previous season’s title.

Calhanoglu joined on a free transfer from Inter’s city rivals AC Milan.

Then, it was the Rossoneri who went on to pip Inter to the title on the final day of the 2021-22 season.

Meanwhile, wingback Federico Dimarco was not a part of the 2020-21 Inter team. The Italian international was still growing on loan at Hellas Verona that season.

Dimarco is a youth academy graduate at Inter, and lifelong fan of the club.

Therefore, winning the title as a key player for the Nerazzurri will certainly be special for the 26-year-old.

Meanwhile, striker Marcus Thuram will feel that this title represents the clearest benchmark yet of the progress he’s made.

Unlike Benjamin Pavard, who arrived at Inter as a Bundesliga, Champions League, and World Cup winner, Thuram came to Inter without the same sort of trophy cabinet.
