German publication BILD reported that Wirtz had informed Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso that he intended to sign for Bayern Munich this summer. But in quotes relayed by Fabrizio Romano on X, Xabi Alonso has refuted that claim. There have been several further updates on Manchester City’s chase for Florian Wirtz that have emerged today. Basically, everything is on hold until Wirtz makes a decision on his future.

Furthermore, Gaughan reports that Wirtz’s father prefers that his son move to Bayern Munich. It is also reported by Gaughan that Wirtz’s mother prefers that he remain at Bayer Leverkusen for another season. Gaughan also adds that Wirtz is open to a move to Manchester City this summer. Lastly, Gaughan reports that the friendship between Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz could lure Wirtz to Bayern.

Christian Falk has reported for CF Bayern Insider that Bayern Munich lead the pursuit to sign Florian Wirtz. Furthermore, Falk reports that Bayern have laid the groundwork for the potential signing of Florian Wirtz through their close relationship with Florian Wirtz’s father. But, Falk does add that Florian Wirtz has had a discussion with Pep Guardiola, which has impressed the German international.

All that awaits is a decision from Florian Wirtz on his future.

Basically, everything is on hold until Florian Wirtz makes a decision on his future. Until that decision is reached Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen are awaiting that news. Wirtz’s decision has the potential to shape the summer transfer window. He could potentially be the biggest name on the market this summer. Manchester City have done all they can to sell their vision to Wirtz.
