Everton are desperate to sign a new striker before Monday’s transfer deadline, and the Toffees could move for Leicester City’s Patson Daka.

According to a report from INews, Leicester would also listen to offers for the 26-year-old striker, who is currently out of favour under Ruud van Nistelrooy.

The new owners are ready to back David Moyes with funds, and the Toffees are weighing up whether to invest in a permanent deal for a striker.

Everton ideally want to sign two attackers before the 3 February deadline. Moyes wants players who are ready to “plug in and play” rather than project players.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is set for an extended spell on the sidelines, while Armando Broja, on loan from Chelsea, is also currently out injured.

The Toffees could also move for Brighton & Hove Albion striker Evan Ferguson, but they are likely to face strong competition from other Premier League rivals.

Everton cannot sign any more players from the Premier League on loan with Broja already on their books, which means they will have to look at options at foreign clubs.

Kevin Thelwel is well-connected in France, and he is looking into various options.

Everton have picked up back-to-back wins in the Premier League under Moyes, and the Toffees should be looking at better players than Daka.

He has made just one start in the league this season, and ten more appearances have come from the bench. He is struggling to get games for Leicester who are fighting for survival, and the transfer link reeks of pure desperation.
