Graeme Bailey reported on TBR Football that several Premier League sides are considering signing Jonathan Rowe, and Everton are one of them. The former Norwich City winger was signed by Marseille last year for £17 million, with the French club believing the youngster could make a name for himself in the years to come. However, the 22-year-old managed just three goals and three assists in 28 games in Ligue 1 in a season, and that is why the club have now decided to sell him.
Following this decision, several English sides are keeping an eye on his situation. Crystal Palace see him as a replacement for the potential departure of Eberechi Eze, while West Ham also want to capitalise on this opportunity. The English winger is important for Everton as the Toffees have been looking for a player in the attacking third for some time who can run down the wing and create chances consistently by threatening the full-backs.
The club have recently added some new faces to the squad, but coach David Moyes needs an option that can adapt to the fast pace of the Premier League and bring a new dynamism. That’s why Rowe’s name is currently in the news at Goodison Park.

The question now is whether Rowe will be the right signing for Everton. His biggest strength is that he is fast and adept at stretching the defence. The left-winger can score goals, and he does not shy away from creating chances, but the 22-year-old’s weakness has been that he has not been able to perform consistently so far. Rowe showed some brilliance at Marseille, but could not maintain that momentum throughout the season.
The Englishman can be expected to perform better in David Moyes’ system, as Everton currently lacks a winger who can bring energy and quickness to this position, even after signing Jack Grealish.
However, this deal will not be easy, as other English clubs are also ready to sign him. The Toffees will be under budget pressure, but if they take the risk, Rowe could play a big role in the future. In our opinion, Everton should not miss this opportunity, as sometimes players like these can change the direction of a team.
