Ethan Nwaneri’s younger brother Emerson helped Arsenal to lift the u15 Premier League Floodlit Shield this week, winning the final 3-0.

The Arsenal u15s took part in the Premier League Floodlit Shield this week, playing in the final against Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday.

The young Gunners ultimately came out 3-0 winners, with Ethan Nwaneri’s younger brother Emerson Nwaneri part of the squad that won the trophy.

“He’s a midfielder but he can play right back as well,” Ethan previously said of Emerson. “There are three years between us so it would be really cool if we could both play in the Arsenal first-team together one day.”

Former Arsenal academy player and ex-Premier League footballer Colin Kazim-Richards now works on the coaching staff for the Gunners’ u15 side, and he was pictured holding the trophy alongside some of the players.

The Arsenal u15s also took part in the Mediterranean International Cup recently, an international youth competition involving 56 teams from around the world.

The young Gunners won two of their three group games, drawing the other, and went on to win their first two knockout matches to reach the quarter-finals, where they were ultimately eliminated.

It was a similar story at the Motion Football Cup before that, with the u15s progressing from the group stage and beating Manchester United on penalties to reach the quarter-finals, before being eliminated by Genk.

To progress from those two quarter-final defeats to winning the Premier League Floodlit Shield is encouraging progress, and the team will hope to keep that going at their next tournaments.
