AC Milan are preparing to face Empoli on matchday 24 of the Serie A, scheduled for 18:00 CET at the Stadio Castellani. Coach Conceição's Rossoneri will face D'Aversa's team and try to improve their position in the standings, in a very important phase of the championship. Let us approach kick-off with our Match Preview.

LATEST FROM MILANELLO AC Milan are coming off the back of a 1-1 draw against Inter in the Derby, followed by a 3-1 win against Roma in the Coppa Italia. In the league, the Rossoneri have shown a certain solidity, but they have yet to find the consistency needed to climb the table. The recent victory in the Coppa Italia could give them an important morale boost as they face Empoli. AC Milan are determined to get back to winning ways in the league and improve their position in the table. Fofana is back from suspension, some alterations to the line-up are possible as a result of the hectic fixture list.

LATEST FROM EMPOLI Empoli, coached by D'Aversa, recently suffered a 4-1 defeat against Juventus in Serie A. The Tuscan team is going through a difficult period, with not many points collected: 16th position, no wins since December (4-1 against Verona). Despite the difficulties, the Azzurri have shown that they can be a tough opponent, especially at home, where they will give their all to turn things around and get a positive result. 3-4-3 is usually their starting formation, Maleh is unavailable; watch out for Esposito and Colombo.

PRE-MATCH NUMBERS

  • AC Milan have won seven of their last eight Serie A matches against Empoli (1D), scoring eighteen goals in that period (an average of 2.3 per game) and conceding only three.
  • The Rossoneri have kept clean sheets in their most recent four matches against Empoli, only against Pisa have they had a longer streak of clean sheets in a row in Serie A (five between 1988 and 1991).
  • Tijjani Reijnders - who scored more than one goal for the first time between Serie A and Eredivisie against Empoli in the first half of the season (a brace last 30 November) - is the midfielder who has scored the most goals in this championship (seven). The Dutchman, after his goals against Parma and Inter, could score in three matches in a row for the first time in his Serie A and Eredivisie career.
  • Santiago Gimenez could become the first Mexican player to score for AC Milan in the history of the Serie A. During his time in the Netherlands (from 2022/23), he scored 65 goals in 105 appearances for Feyenoord. Only Luuk de Jong has done better for an Eredivisie club (70 goals in 115 matches for PSV).
