Speaking to Radio Bruno, Empoli president Fabrizio Corsi commented on the recent health scare involving midfielder Edoardo Bove and addressed the possibility of postponing the upcoming Coppa Italia match against Fiorentina.
Bove, who’s on loan at Fiorentina from Roma, collapsed during the first half of yesterday’s league fixture between La Viola and Inter. He was admitted to Careggi Hospital’s intensive care unit—where he spent the night under pharmacological sedation.
After being monitored throughout the evening, Bove is now awake and alert—thanking everyone for their support and well-wishes.
“What happened to Bove was truly shocking,” Corsi remarked.
“Right away we tried to get updates on his situation and we all went to sleep with him on our minds. Thankfully, we learned early this morning that Edoardo is now out of danger, and we’re hoping for a happy outcome for the young man.”
He continued, “As for Wednesday’s game, we’ll align with the decisions made. We stand in solidarity with Fiorentina, and we know it won’t be an easy situation.”
“We have no objections if it’s decided to postpone the Coppa Italia match on Wednesday.”
