Rangers have spent a pretty penny this summer already, but one player Ibrox Noise wholeheartedly endorsed was the capture of Finland’s Oliver Antman, and the price Rangers paid there for Oliver Antman’s Rangers market value.
£3M initial, rising to £4M with addons. European scout and football expert Joost van der Leij, based in Holland, has made a stunning commentary on the deal.
He believes Rangers have a £30M player right now, and that the club robbed Go Ahead Eagles blind.
Going by the lad’s numbers in Holland, we’d have to agree. 21 goals and assists in 36 appearances are the kinds of numbers top Premier League clubs want.
He’s 23, already a Finland international (22 caps) and already has 10 goals and assists in 22 for his country.
Rangers pulled off an incredible coup getting this lad for the price of Emmanuel Fernandez. Oliver Antman’s Rangers market value is stunning.
He’s already started at Ibrox as he means to continue – two assists on his debut is a pretty ridiculous statement given it was Champions League third round qualifiers. Not easy.
But with van der Leij attributing him a £30M value already, Rangers may just have pulled off the bargain of the season.
He said:
“We already liked Oliver Antman a lot, but I didn’t expect Oliver Antman to do this good. Because he was a superstar winger in the Dutch Eredivisie in 24/25 with very high finishing probability and very high defending probability at the same time. He even has decent passing game probability. Replacement value for Go Ahead Eagles is a stunning: €28,785,876! He just went to Rangers for £4.4M. Rangers robbed the living daylights out of Go Ahead. Best transfer to Scotland I have looked at so far. Rangers is probably going to be very happy with him.”
Pretty high praise indeed. And Rangers fans saw why against Plzen.
Maybe Ibrox scouting isn’t a busted flush after all.
