Robert Lewandowski bagged a brace on his first appearance in front of the Spotify Camp Nou crowd as Barcelona beat Real Valladolid 4-0.
Scorers: Lewandowski 24′, 64′, Pedri 43′, Roberto 90+1′
The hosts took an early lead when cutting inside, Raphinha delivered a devastating cross to the back post that was expertly finished off by Robert Lewandowski, scoring his first goal the Camp Nou.
Pedri doubled Barcelona’s lead on the brink of half-time. Having been set up by Ousmane Dembélé just inside the penalty area, the 19-year-old Spaniard cooly slotted home his first goal of the season.
Dembélé, who spurned a couple of opportunities himself, constantly finds redemption in his ability to set up teammates. The France international cut inside between two defenders before slipping the ball to Lewandowski.
The 34-year-old holds off the incoming defender and calmly rolls the ball into the far corner to double his personal tally.
André ter Stergen was tested a couple of times in the Catalan goal but stood firm to hold onto the clean sheet before second-half substitute Sergi Roberto capped off a fine team display to make it 4-0.
