Cole Palmer has shown last season wasn’t a one off as he’s made a brilliant start to the campaign under Enzo Maresca’s guidance.
Palmer exceeded all expectations after joining from Manchester City on deadline day in 2023 and took the Premier League by storm.
The 22-year-old was named Premier League Young Player of the Year after scoring 22 goals and providing 11 assists in a record breaking campaign.
Despite signing Jadon Sancho, Joao Felix and Pedro Neto in the summer to add to the attacking ranks and take some of the pressure off Palmer, the England international is still very much the main man.
The question heading into the season was whether Palmer could replicate his form and his start to the campaign has very much shown he can, with Enzo Maresca stating he’s very proud to work with the Englishman.
Opposition are trying to make life more difficult for Palmer by doubling up on him or man marking him, but he’s still scored 11 goals and provided six assists in 16 league games.

The supporting cast have very much stepped up and Maresca has admitted Chelsea are no longer “Cole Palmer FC,” whilst the Blues are the top scorers in the league with 37 goals, just one less than they managed in the entire of the 2022/2023 campaign.
Palmer had a quieter game against Brentford on Sunday, but he still had an impact on the game and stats from Opta Joe show he’s leading the way in four different attacking stats this month.
The former City man leads the way for goals scored (4), shots attempted (19), shots on target (11) and chances created (12).

With fixtures coming thick and fast in the Christmas period Palmer is one player who is unlikely to be rotated given how important he is to the side, but he is getting rest as he’s not currently part of the Conference League squad.
The Blues will be hoping Palmer can keep up his form for the remainder of the season and help Chelsea win silverware come the end of the campaign.
