Borussia Dortmund will hope to take the next step towards Champions League knockout stage qualification on Wednesday when they take on Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb.
Having won three of their opening four league phase matches in the UEFA Champions League, Borussia Dortmund are well placed to qualify for the knockout stage. Next up for BVB is a trip to Dinamo Zagreb, who have recovered brilliantly since their 9-2 defeat to Bayern Munich on matchday one.
The Croatian giants go into Wednesday's clash on the back of two straight wins in the Champions League. And they will hope to pull off an upset against Borussia Dortmund, who have lost their last six away matches across all competitions.
Borussia Dortmund prepared for their trip to Croatia with a 4-0 thumping of SC Freiburg on Friday. The Black and Yellows delivered what was arguably their best performance in the Bundesliga so far this season. Dinamo Zagreb, meanwhile, were held to a goalless draw by HNK Rijeka.
Nuri Sahin will hope to welcome Serhou Guirassy back into the starting XI on Wednesday after the striker missed the Freiburg clash due to illness. Emre Can will also return, but the game will come too soon for Karim Adeyemi and Niklas Süle.
Felix Nmecha will hope to continue his strong run of form for Borussia Dortmund, while Maximilian Beier will look to build on the strong performance he delivered against Freiburg.
Dinamo Zagreb also have a number of players who could pose a threat to Borussia Dortmund, including talented playmaker Martin Baturina, who has seven assists and two goals to his name this season. Striker Sandro Kulenovic could also prove to be a handful, having scored 14 goals so far, including three in the Champions League.
