Diaby Gets 7, Luiz With 5 | Aston Villa Players Rated In Tough Loss Vs Olympiakos | OneFootball

Aston Villa entertained Olympiakos at Villa Park earlier tonight as they hoped to win the first leg of their UEFA Europa Conference League semi-final tie. The Villans made a slow start to the contest and conceded the opening goal in the 16th minute when Ayoub El Kaabi scored for the visitors. El Kaabi doubled his team’s advantage in the 29th minute but Ollie Watkins got a goal back for the Villans in the dying embers of the first half.

Moussa Diaby equalised for Unai Emery’s side in the 52nd minute. However, Olympiakos took the lead again thanks to El Kaabi’s penalty just four minutes later. Santiago Hezze restored his team’s two-goal advantage in the 67th minute as Aston Villa crashed to a tough 4-2 loss in front of their home fans.

Lenglet looked shaky on the defensive end of the field but was good on the ball.

LB: Lucas Digne – 6/10

He struggled to keep things solid at the back and produced a lackluster display at left-back.

CM: John McGinn – 6/10

McGinn was quiet in the first half and had a more eventful game in the second.

CM: Douglas Luiz – 5/10

Luiz struggled to impress with his performance in the middle of the park.

He linked up play well with others around him but there was no goal for him.
