Italy National Team medicals reveal a detailed report regarding forward Mateo Retegui’s injury.
According to a report by Gianluca Di Marzio, Mateo Retegui has suffered a first-degree lesion of the long adductor muscle on his right.
The Serie A top scorer, who has scored 22 goals till now in the campaign, was called up by Luciano Spalletti for Italy’s Nations League quarter-final tie versus Germany. However, Retegui soon showed signs of discomfort in the training camp and he was dropped from the squad.
Following the examination of his injury, Retegui has now become a doubt for Atalanta’s match against Fiorentina on March 30.
Spalletti was dealt a huge blow after this news and he is expected to go with a 3-5-2 formation tonight against Die Mannschaft. The two attackers are set to be Giacomo Raspadori and Moise Kean as both of them have showcased exceptional performances this season.
