La Liga heavyweights Barcelona have tabled an opening offer for a leading member of the attacking ranks at English Championship side Hull City.

That’s according to transfer insider Florian Plettenberg, who points towards Jaden Philogene as the player in question.

Philogene’s name has of course positioned itself front and centre in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over the course of the last week.

This comes after word was forthcoming that the 22-year-old, amid Barcelona’s ongoing search for reinforcements out wide, had been identified as a surprise option.

Philogene, for his part, is fresh off an impressive campaign, which saw him rack up 12 goals and six assists in 32 Championship appearances.

And as much, evidently, proved enough to pique the attentions of those behind the scenes at the Camp Nou.

In fact, as per the aforementioned Florian Plettenberg, Barcelona have gone as far as to submit an official bid for the signature of the Englishman.

The proposal in question consists of an initial one-year loan, featuring an obligation (under certain conditions) to buy, set at a fee in the region of €20-23 million.
