Unlike in the recent past, FC Barcelona will not be flying to the USA for their usual summer pre-season, but instead will travel to Asia to kickstart preparations for the 2025/26 campaign.

Plans for the tour of South Korea are starting to take shape, with the idea being that the Blaugrana generate around €10 million from the trip where they will likely play two matches.

Now, Mundo Deportivo has brought forward more details about how Barcelona’s pre-season tour will pan out.

As per the report, Barcelona appear to be scheduled to play two friendly matches in South Korea, with the plan being for the matches to take place between the first and second week of July, coinciding with a summer break in the K League.

One of the confirmed opponents for the Blaugrana are FC Seoul, whose captain is former Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard. This match would take place at the Seoul World Cup Stadium, which has a capacity of 66,704 spectators.

The second friendly is expected to be against Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, the most successful club in South Korean football, currently managed by Argentine coach Gustavo Poyet.

However, this fixture is not yet 100% confirmed. Organisers are also considering an alternative match against a K League All-Star team, though discussions are ongoing, as the league’s best players are also being considered for other events.

Barcelona would ideally like to play both matches in Seoul, where the club last played in the summer of 2010 during a combined tour of South Korea and China.

However, there is still a possibility that one of the matches could be held in another major South Korean city.

The final schedule is expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks as Barcelona finalise their pre-season preparations.
