According to a report from Jijantes, Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco, reportedly met with Pablo Torre’s agents, Arturo Canales and Fernando Solanas, to address concerns about the young midfielder’s lack of game time this season.
Despite the club’s ongoing financial challenges, nurturing young talents like Torre remains a top priority for Barcelona, even over new signings.
It must be noted that Torre, now 21, returned to Barcelona this summer after a loan spell at Girona. He made an impressive start under manager Hansi Flick, standing out during pre-season and featuring in the opening matches of the league.
However, as the season has progressed, Torre’s role within the squad has significantly diminished, leading to discussions about his immediate future.
Deco’s meeting with Torre’s representatives aimed to analyse the situation and reassure the player of the club’s long-term plans for him.

Despite his current lack of minutes, Barcelona are not considering letting Torre leave, as they believe injuries or squad rotations could present opportunities for him in the midfield.
The competition for a starting spot at Barcelona is fierce, with players like Frenkie de Jong, Pedri, Gavi, Dani Olmo, Fermin Lopez, and Marc Casado ahead of Torre in the pecking order.
Yet, the club remains pleased with his professionalism and commitment in training, qualities that have earned him respect from the coaching staff. His attitude has been nothing short of exemplary, even though his playing time has been limited.
Interestingly, Torre reportedly turned down offers from other clubs last summer, demonstrating his determination to succeed at Barcelona. While his journey has not gone as expected, his desire to make an impact remains undeterred.
Torre’s contract with Barcelona runs until 2026, and while the club is currently focused on renewing key players like Ronald Araujo and De Jong, they have not overlooked Torre’s potential.
