Gian Piero Gasperini has clearly indicated the priorities to Florent Ghisolfi: among the fundamental pieces to build the new Roma there is the need for a modern and reliable left back.

The profile that convinces the coach the most is Maxim De Cuyper of Club Brugge, who has been carefully followed for weeks and is now getting closer to the Italian capital.

According to La Repubblica, the Giallorossi have already started contacts with the player’s entourage and are preparing to present an offer of around 17 million euros.

Brugge are asking for 25 million, but there is room for negotiation, also because the player’s will seems oriented towards the capital.

The deal could accelerate as soon as Angelino’s exit is formalized.

Al-Hilal are ready to return to the charge for the former Leipzig player after the Club World Cup, and Gasperini has already given his approval for the transfer. At that point, Roma will launch an assault on De Cuyper, considered the ideal heir on the left flank.
