Kevin De Bruyne’s finish in Friday's Premier League clash with Wolves was his 250th goal involvement for City since Pep Guardiola’s arrival.
The Belgian is just the second player ever to directly contribute so many times for a team coached by the legendary Catalan, with only Lionel Messi hitting the landmark before.
De Bruyne is the only man to have played in each of Guardiola’s nine seasons in charge at the Etihad Stadium, scoring 92 times and providing 158 assists to help us on our way to an incredible 19 major honours.
He joined City in 2015, netting 16 goals and laying on 13 assists in his first campaign before Guardiola landed in Manchester.
His 108 strikes in total mean he is just the 18th man to reach three figures for the Club and the first midfielder since Colin Bell to do so.
That number comprises of 72 strikes in the Premier League, 16 in the Champions League and 10 in each of the FA Cup and League Cup.
As for assists, De Bruyne now has the second-most in Premier League history with 119 in 281 appearances.
He hit 100 in record time, needing just 237 appearances and therefore smashing Cesc Fabregas’ previous best of 293.
No player has ever won the Premier League Playmaker of the Season award more than once, except De Bruyne who has earned the trophy three times.
Only seven players have ever laid on more for their team-mates in the Champions League, supplying a total of 29 assists.
The Belgian has also been most productive against several of our direct rivals at the top of Premier League, with 13 goals or assists against regular title challengers Liverpool and 12 versus Arsenal.
He’s also reserved his best for the very biggest games in the Champions League, scoring four and assisting four in eight appearances against Real Madrid.
Gabriel Jesus benefitted more than any other player from De Bruyne’s creativity, scoring 22 times from an assist via the Belgian, while Erling Haaland (20), Sergio Aguero (18) and Raheem Sterling (17) have also enjoyed a productive partnership with our No.17.
The iconic Treble-winning term of 2022/23 was also De Bruyne’s best in the final third, with 10 goals and 31 assists totalling an incredible 41 contributions.
2019/20 was the next best, with 16 goals and 22 assists across all competitions.
His form that season saw him pick up the Premier League Player of the Season and PFA Player of the Year awards.
De Bruyne’s latest landmark points to what we all already knew; the Belgian’s paramount importance to our stratospheric success under Pep Guardiola.
A full celebration of his City career is set to follow at the end of the current campaign.
