Daniel Farke urges need for 'reinforcements' as Premier League return nears | OneFootball

Leeds boss Daniel Farke has admitted his side are short of firepower as they prepare for their return to the Premier League, saying the club must “add some quality” in the final third to be truly competitive at the top level.

Speaking to BBC Radio Yorkshire, Farke expressed concern over the lack of attacking reinforcements, with just one recognised forward - Lukas Nmecha - signed so far this summer.

“We are not naive,” said the German boss. “We know that even in comparison to our Championship offence you could say that we are not much improved. We know in the offence we are not ready for Premier League level.”

Despite the clear need for reinforcements, the Leeds coach remains calm but realistic about the situation. “I know especially with the offence, in the last bit you can add some quality,” he said. “Of course, as a manager you want all the players available on the first day of pre-season… the shorter the time is to the first game, the more difficult it is to integrate them and make them fully ready and up to speed.”

Farke was quick to stress that the club’s recruitment team is working hard behind the scenes to bring in new signings, but warned that time is becoming a factor.

“We are two weeks away from the first game. I can't guarantee that for the first game everything is really ready and we are fully equipped. We definitely have to make sure that latest after the first international break we have really a competitive squad for the Premier League.”

He added: “We are not anxious but fully aware we need to do something.”

With Premier League football looming, Leeds fans will be hoping for swift movement in the transfer market to ensure the side can hit the ground running. Farke’s message is clear: without attacking reinforcements, survival could prove an uphill battle.
