Canada could only manage a 1-1 draw against Curaçao following a stoppage time equaliser in the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
Scorers: Saliba 9' ; Antonisse 90+4'
Canada took the lead inside ten minutes as Jayden Nelson's free-kick was headed upwards by a Curaçao defender and volleyed into the bottom-left corner by Nathan Saliba.
The rest of the first-half was fairly even as Curaçao began to test Canada on set-pieces and in transition.
Curaçao thought they had equalised in the second half after Jürgen Locadia's curling left-footed shot found the back of the net. However, following a lengthy VAR review, the goal was ruled out for offside.
Curaçao found the net again in the 85th minute but were denied by another offside.
But drama struck in the fourth minute of added time, Curaçao finally equalised in transition as Jeremy Antonisse slid the ball past Dayne St. Clair and into the bottom right corner.
Canada head coach Jesse Marsch was not on the touchline as he served the second match of a two-game suspension and the American will certainly be disappointed with tonight's result.
Canada will face El Salvador in their final group stage match on Tuesday as they look to advance to the Gold Cup quarter-finals.
