Crystal Palace are showing strong interest in securing a loan move for Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Hwang Hee-Chan as they look to strengthen their attacking options, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.
The South Korean international has had a mixed spell at Wolverhampton Wanderers since joining from RB Leipzig initially on loan in 2021, before completing a permanent deal a year later.
After a promising 2023-24 season where he scored 12 Premier League goals, injuries limited his impact in the 2024-25 campaign to just two goals in 21 league appearances.
Only five of Hwang’s 21 appearances last time out were from the start, as the arrival of Jorgen Strand Larsen has seen him fall down the pecking order, leading to speculation about his future.
Hwang’s situation has been further complicated by his desire to secure regular playing time ahead of the 2026 World Cup, making a loan move to Palace more attractive.
He saw just nine minutes of action in his side’s Premier League opener against Manchester City as Wolves were beaten for a fourth straight game.
While there has also been reported interest from clubs in France and the English Championship, Hwang is not looking to leave the Premier League at the moment.
The 29-year-old would bring pace and versatility across the forward line, which could help Palace as they prepare for a European campaign off the back of last season’s FA Cup triumph.
Oliver Glasner’s side are a bit short of options in attack after losing Eddie Nketiah to injury during preseason, leaving Jean-Philippe Mateta as the only striker available.
