AC Milan appear to be putting the pieces in place for what they hope will be a January signing to reinforce the midfield, a report claims.
According to Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews) this morning, the management are carefully evaluating some profiles who could come in and flesh out the depth of the midfield department, which is stretched at present.
Ismael Bennacer has been out of action virtually all season and though he should return to training in one month, caution and patience will be needed in the final stages of his recovery process. As a result, Youssouf Fofana and Tijjani Reijnders might have to work overtime for a while longer yet.
Milan lack a real alternative at present and in their quest to fix this issue they have highlighted 20-year-old Reda Belahyane of Verona as a target. The Moroccan has French citizenship so would not take a non-EU slot, and he qualifies as a List B player too.
The paper adds that Milan’s directors have already had contact with the agents of Belahyane, who would cost around €10m despite his impressive performances in Serie A. In addition to him, the Rossoneri are also evaluating other profiles, such as Johnny Cardoso of Real Betis.
