AC Milan are looking for a new head coach to replace Sergio Conceicao, and Bologna boss Vincenzo Italiano is on their radar.

This morning’s edition of Corriere della Sera (via PianetaMilan) takes stock of the fates of some Serie A coaches. Conceicao, by losing the Coppa Italia final, lost any chances that he had to keep his job and will depart after the Monza game next week.

The goal is to win against Roma and Monza to say goodbye with two successes and potentially qualification for the Conference League. Who will Milan turn to for the future? It seems as though Italiano – who masterminded Bologna’s cup win – is the main candidate at present.

Italiano is being courted by Milan, but is leaning towards staying at Bologna as per the paper. There should be a decisive meeting on Monday to verify the plans for the future between the Rossoblu management and the coach.

Presuming that the talks go well and the former Fiorentina boss wants to continue the project with Bologna, Milan would have to look elsewhere. Then we would have to see who the leadership turn to, with ex-Atalanta man Lee Congerton having emerged as the latest sporting director target.
