The Corinthians' Cultural Department inaugurated, this Saturday (23), the Antonio de Almeida Administrative Room, a new workspace located in the club's Memorial. The initiative pays homage to one of the longest-serving figures in the club's history: Toninho de Almeida, an employee who dedicated seven decades of his life to Timão.
The environment was planned to meet both the functional demands of the team and the needs of preserving Corinthian memory. The space has technical furniture for storing historical pieces from the centenary collection and was structured to ensure adequate conditions for the maintenance, conservation, and communication of Corinthians' cultural heritage.

In addition to the administrative area, the space houses the Presidents' Room, dedicated to the exhibition of photographs, documents, and original objects of the directors who have held the presidency of Corinthians. The location also brings together sports periodicals and historical publications of the club, available for public consultation by appointment.
According to the Cultural Department, the initiative reinforces the institutional commitment to valuing the club's memory and recognizing personalities who contributed to the construction of its history.

A life dedicated to Corinthians
Antonio de Almeida was born in 1910, in Portugal, but always defined himself as "Brazilian at heart and Corinthian in body and soul". He joined the club at the age of 18 and, over seven decades, held various positions, including doorman, editor, and press advisor.
Even after losing both hands in an accident at a sugar mill, he found in writing a way to translate his love for Corinthians through writing. He was responsible for writing historical notes and recording daily events at Parque São Jorge, becoming a reference for generations of fans and journalists.
The devotion to the club was recognized both in life and after his death, on May 9, 2000. On that day, before the match between Corinthians and Rosario Central-ARG, at the Pacaembu Stadium, a minute of silence marked the farewell of the man who became a symbol of dedication and unconditional love for Timão.
In one of his texts, Toninho, as he was known in Parque São Jorge, revealed the feeling that guided his trajectory: "There has always been a great desire in my heart to leave something in writing for posterity, so that I could present the various facets of the beautiful and passionate history of this indestructible monument of Brazilian sports: Sport Club Corinthians Paulista, a name we learned to adore since childhood and that has always lived within us".
