In the late afternoon of this Thursday, August 21, forward Nicollas, one of the main prospects from Corinthians’ youth academy, confirmed on his social media the extension of his contract with the club from Parque São Jorge. Click here to check out the post.
The new agreement should be formalized by Corinthians in the CBF’s Daily Informative Bulletin in the coming hours. Last Tuesday, August 19, the portal Meu Timão reported that the new version of the contract will be valid until 2028 – following FIFA regulations for players under 18 and is expected to have its release clause increased to around R$ 30 million. The information was confirmed by Central do Timão.

The previous contract was valid until June 2027 and had a domestic release clause of R$ 10 million, considered accessible for other Brazilian football teams. The international release clause for this contract was 30 million euros (just over R$ 190 million). Corinthians sped up the process of reviewing the contracts of its main youth talents after the departure of Kauê Furquim, only 16 years old, to Bahia (managed by the City Group), which paid the release clause – R$ 14 million and took the player.
The Alvinegro even broke off relations with the City Group and accused Bahia of player poaching, in an official statement released by the club itself. Like Nicollas, who has been moving between the Under-17 and Under-20 squads, Furquim was being closely watched by coach Dorival Júnior and was even on the bench for two Brasileirão matches (Ceará and Fortaleza).
This week, Corinthians also officially renewed the contract of midfielder Gui Amorim, top scorer of the Under-17s in the 2025 season. Amid negotiations for the renewal, Nicollas was even kept out of Alvinegro’s youth matches after the 2025 Copinha. The winger, even though born in 2008, was a starter for Timãozinho in the tournament and has scored three goals in 29 matches for the team this year – 24 for the Under-20 and five for the Under-17.
