Two of the Premier League’s leading clubs have set their sights on the signature of an up-and-coming member of the midfield ranks at Barcelona.

That’s according to Sky Sports, who point towards Juan Hernández as the player in question.

Hernández, for his part, is a 17-year-old attacking midfielder, who has spent the season to date plying his trade between Barca Atlètic, and the club’s U19s.

It is his exploits with the latter which have long been turning heads, with Hernández having played a starring role en route to the Blaugrana securing glory in the UEFA Youth League.

And as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then two clubs to have had their interest piqued by the Spanish youth international’s efforts on the continent this season are Chelsea and Manchester United.

As per a report from Sky Sports:

‘Chelsea and Manchester United have been tracking Barcelona’s promising youngster Juan Hernandez Torres this season.

‘Both clubs are considering whether to trigger a £5m (€6m) buyout clause in the Spain U19’s contract this summer, as he turns 18 in July.’
