Barcelona star Pedri has revealed his take that he was completely to blame for one of the four goals netted against his side on Tuesday night.

Barcelona, of course, played their part in one of the games of the Spanish campaign to date yesterday evening.

After welcoming Diego Simeone’s Atlético Madrid to Catalunya’s capital for the first leg of a Copa del Rey semi-final tie, the Blaugrana surrendered a late two-goal lead, en route to a 4-4 result.

The aforementioned Pedri, for his part, featured from the off in the clash, from his customary berth in the middle of the park.

And in the eyes of most, the 22-year-old stood out as the game’s very best performer, courtesy of another masterful all-round display.

In turn, it may come as something of a surprise to hear of Pedri being highly self-critical in the aftermath of the fixture.

Speaking to the media post-match, the Spanish international revealed his opinion that the opening goal netted by Atlético was ‘completely my fault’:

“Their first goal comes from a set piece and I lost my man. It’s completely my fault.”
