AC Milan appear to be keen on signing a new midfielder during the January transfer window, and Warren Bondo is an option they are looking at.
According to Calciomercato.com, one of the priorities for the Milan management is to sign a midfielder who can help Youssouf Fofana and Tijjani Reijnders, while allowing Ismael Bennacer to get back to 100% without being rushed.
One of the targets – in addition to Morten Frendrup of Genoa – is Warren Bondo. He has a contract that runs until June 2027, and his performances for the Lombardy side have also attracted the attention of Lazio and Atalanta.
Milan’s technical director Geoffrey Moncada has followed Bondo since his time at Nancy in Ligue 2, and he is currently studying if and when to begin official contacts with Adriano Galliani and Monza. Discussions are expected once the management have returned from Saudi Arabia.
Bondo for his part has already given priority to the Rossoneri and is waiting for a call. The report adds that the Frenchman could ‘adapt perfectly to Conceicao’s style of play’ by combining physical and technical qualities.
He is versatile too, as he can play in any midfield role and has even been used as a right-back in the past. Conceicao will no doubt have his say on January incomings, but Bondo feels like a fit.
