While waiting to decide who will take over as the new sporting director, AC Milan have decided on one thing: the need to recruit more Italians.
According to Calciomercato.com, the technical director Geoffrey Moncada is already preparing a list of potential targets to evaluate internally in the coming weeks. One name above all: Pietro Comuzzo, the central defender at Fiorentina.
Moncada has already started the first exploratory talks with Comuzzo’s agent in view of the summer. Milan want to aim for a couple of Italian signings, and the 20-year-old could take the place of one of Fikayo Tomori or Malick Thiaw in the squad.
Both the Englishman and the German – who has again been linked with a return to the Bundesliga today – have been declared sellable, but have different valuations.
It remains to be seen what La Viola’s asking price for Comuzzo is, having rejected an offer of over €30m from Napoli in January for the promising central defender, who came through their youth sector.
Milan are also considering a very intriguing option: Federico Chiesa. At the moment it is just an idea, but pay attention to possible developments. The Liverpool forward is very much liked by Moncada , who could take advantage of the excellent relationship with Fali Ramadani.
