Samuele Ricci looks more and more likely to get a big move in the coming months, and AC Milan are gearing up for a battle with Manchester City.
Calciomercato.com report that Ricci’s future is ‘yet to be written’ but what is known is that he ‘continues to arouse great interest at an international level’. Manchester City (and in general the City Group) have been probing for several weeks, as have other English clubs.
The midfielder is a talent ‘in the take-off phase’ and it is easy to foresee a move to a big club in the near future. In the meantime, Torino are struggling after making a brilliant start to the season, and they are sliding down the league.
This is why a January move is becoming more and more unlikely for the Italy international. Torino president Urbano Cairo has no intention of selling the ex-Empoli starlet before the end of the season, and he has made that clear to the suitors.
For Milan, this might be good news. While City are looking for a midfielder with urgency given Rodri’s injury, the Rossoneri directors were always planning to put the groundwork in ahead of June rather than the next few weeks.
The report adds that the managements of Milan and Torino appear to be on good terms after recent deals like the Tommaso Pobega one, but Napoli are also back in the mix and have shown ‘fairly concrete interest’.
