New Besiktas club president Serdal Adalı has approached Southampton, with the ambition to sign €13m striker Paul Onuachu.

Southampton signed Paul Onuachu in 2023. The Nigeria international striker has been a strange case to analyse since he clearly has exceptional technical ability but he's struggled to make the Southampton lineup.

Under the new manager Ivan Juric, there is hope for players like Paul Onuachu. This is because the Croatian manager brings with him a new tactical approach which centres around exciting, attacking football. This is much different to the approach Russell Martin made during his time at the club.

Nevertheless, Paul Onuachu unsurprisingly remains a figure of interest in Turkey.

According to a report from Fanatik, new Besiktas club president Serdal Adalı is keen to bring Paul Onuachu back to Turkey. In fact, he has even been in contact with Southampton, who remain insistent that €13m is the price any club must pay to land Onuachu.

Paul Onuachu seriously impressed during his spell at Trabzonspor on loan. In 21 league appearances, Onuachu scored 15 goals. He also became a contender for the Puskas award during his loan spell in Turkey, hence why he is held in high regard there.

Therefore, the question mark remains - Why is Paul Onuachu not the first name on the team sheet at Southampton? Well, we cannot answer for Ivan Juric yet. However, under Russell Martin, Onuachu was a different player to what his tactical vision required.
