Our last encounter against Southampton was in April 2023 and saw Erling Haaland bag a brace, with Jack Grealish and Julian Alvarez also on target in an impressive 4-1 victory at St Mary’s Stadium.

We last faced the Saints at the Etihad in October 2022, emerging as 4-0 victors with Phil Foden, Riyad Mahrez, Joao Cancelo and Haaland all on target in an emphatic win.

We were also in action in the Champions League on Wednesday, cruising to a 5-0 win over Sparta Prague at the Etihad to continue our unbeaten start to the campaign.

As for Southampton, they fell to a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Leicester having led the game 2-0 at half-time.
