FC Bayern is interested in one of the most sought-after talents in Europe. The Munich club is apparently interested in AC Milan striker Francesco Camarda.

Are Bayern continuing to upgrade their youth programme? According to information from BILD, FCB are interested in striker Francesco Camarda. The 16-year-old’s name is being discussed on the Bayern campus.

Camarda is regarded as one of the greatest striker talents in Europe. That is why Bayern are not the only ones after Camarda. Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City also have the attacker on their list.

And the youngster can apparently imagine a move. The Italian Gazzetta dello Sport recently reported that Camarda does not want to extend his contract with Milan. His contract currently runs until 2026, but the Rossoneri would have liked to extend it by a further year until 2027 – probably at significantly higher wages in order to keep their striker jewel.

Next jewel for Freund and Co

Rumours of BVB’s interest first surfaced last autumn. Since then, the Italian U17 international has made two competitive appearances for Milan in Serie A. He was substituted in the final minutes against AC Florence and Frosinone Calcio. And he was only 15 years old at the time! A clear sign that Milan see Camarda as a star of the future.

Signing Camarda would fit in with Bayern’s endeavours to further increase the quality of football in their youth academy. They are always on the lookout for young talent for the campus. As recently as the winter break, for example, they signed the talented Swedish striker Jonah Kusi-Asare, who is currently playing for the Munich U19s. Sporting director Christoph Freund is particularly keen to find new talents with the potential to make the leap into the professional team.

BILD chief reporter Tobi Altschäffl also said about Camarda in the „Bayern Insider“ podcast: „That would be a Christoph Freund transfer, I would say.“ The catch: Camarda is „almost too expensive“ for the campus. His market value is estimated at 10 million euros by Transfermarkt.de.
