Chloe Kelly immediately shot to the top of the betting for Sports Personality of the Year after the Euro 2025 final. The England winger is now just 7/4 to win the award according to the UK’s best betting sites.
Kelly came up clutch for the Lionesses in both the quarter-final and the final at Euro 2025 with crucial individual moments securing the title.
In the quarters, Kelly was handed the responsibility of taking England’s penalty deep into extra time. Although she missed the spot-kick, the Arsenal winger scored the rebound to secure a spot in the semi-final.
In the final she stepped up for the Lionesses again despite not starting. Kelly was brought on for Lauren James late in the first half with the Chelsea forward nursing an injury.
The 27-year-old made a quick impact in the second period, with her cross to Alessia Russo providing the assist for England’s only goal of the game.
When the final went to penalties it was once again Kelly’s time to shine for the Lionesses with the winger handed the huge responsibility of taking the deciding spot-kick.
She made no mistake from the spot, burying her penalty in emphatic fashion to secure England’s second consecutive European Championship.
Ahead of Kelly in the current betting is Rory McIlroy. The Irish golfer completed the golf Grand Slam this summer after winning an elusive Masters title.
McIlroy is currently priced at 11/10 after a sensational year, with him and Kelly well clear favourites in the betting.
Darts sensation Luke Littler comes next at a price of 12/1. Littler became the youngest ever PDC World Darts Champion in 2025 and with a World Matchplay title adding icing on the cake, the 18-year-old definitely has a chance of winning the prestigious Sports Personality of the Year award.
A whole host of Chloe Kelly’s England teammates come next in the betting, with shootout hero Hannah Hampton 7/1.
Hampton is followed by Leah Williamson and Lucy Bronze who complete the top 10 contenders for the award.
If Chloe Kelly wins Sports Personality of the Year, she would be the third Lioness to take home the award.
Beth Mead won the title in 2022 after England’s first European Championship win.
Mead finished top scorer at Euro 2022 with six goals and became the first ever female footballer to win the Sports Personality of the Year award .
Mary Earps took home the award in 2023, making it back to back awards for female footballers as the sport continued to break boundaries.
Earps won the Golden Glove award for best goalkeeper at the World Cup in 2023 and even saved a penalty in the final against Spain – despite England going on to lose the game.
