As reported last week on SheKicks, Chloe Kelly’s odds to win Sports Personality of the Year have been slashed by bookmakers.
Since the Euro 2025 final the England winger’s odds have continued to plummet and Kelly is now odds on to win the award.
Irish golfer Rory McIlroy was favoured to win his fourth title this year but his odds have drifted out to 2/1.
Chloe Kelly was instrumental in England’s Euro 2025 success and it wasn’t just in the final that she was making the headlines this summer.
After a quiet group stage Kelly burst into life in the knockouts. Against Sweden in the quarter-finals Kelly scored her penalty in the shootout but she had an even more important one in the semi’s.
The responsibility was given to Arsenal’s newest recruit when the Lionesses won a penalty in the 119th minute against Italy.
Although Kelly saw her penalty saved by the goalkeeper, she was quickest to the rebound which sent England through to another final against Spain.
Against the world champions Kelly again came up big with an assist for new club teammate Alessia Russo to equalise.
The spot-kick specialist was given another huge moment in the shootout, as Sarina Wiegman selected Kelly to take the deciding fifth penalty.
Before Euro 2025, Chloe Kelly was 110/1 to win Sports Personality of the Year.
Kelly was still priced as high as 28/1 to win the award before the final, but her odds have only gone down since her heroics in Switzerland.
Kelly is also reportedly in line to earn an MBE this year alongside England teammate Hannah Hampton.
Hampton is another market mover for Sports Personality after her saves in the shootouts and the Chelsea goalkeeper is now 15/2 in from 8/1.
