Italy international Federico Chiesa is close to returning to action for Liverpool, as he suggested in his latest Instagram post.

The former Juventus and Fiorentina winger hasn’t played a competitive match since September 25 due to fitness issues, but Liverpool coach Arne Slot confirmed earlier this week that the Italian would return to action in the coming weeks.

Chiesa also provided an encouraging update on Instagram on Saturday, posting a picture during a training session with the Reds.

Although he was not part of the squad for today’s 3-2 win in Southampton, his recovery seems to be progressing well.

Chiesa hasn’t played for Italy since last summer’s Euros and has missed the last six games in the Nations League.

The 27-year-old has one assist in three appearances with Liverpool this term.
