Chiesa keeps Roma and Juventus waiting on future decision | OneFootball

According to Sky Sport Italia, Roma and Juventus are ready to shake hands on a deal worth €20m plus bonuses for Federico Chiesa, but the player remains unconvinced.

The Italy international is only under contract until June 2025 and a renewal seems impossible, especially as he is not part of the tactical plans for new coach Thiago Motta.

The Bianconeri also want to rush a sale through in order to use that cash for Atalanta midfielder Teun Koopmeiners.

This is why they have dropped their demands to €25m including add-ons and want to complete the transfer to Roma as soon as possible.

Chiesa hesitating over next step

However, Sky Sport Italia also report that Chiesa is hesitating, because he would prefer a club in the Champions League.

While Relevo transfer expert Matteo Moretto suggested he’d rather go abroad, Sportitalia chief Alfredo Pedullà maintains that is not necessarily the case.

Roma therefore have a chance, as would another Italian club prepared to make the investment, but Chiesa does not want to rush this decision.

Now that the asking price has been set, it could invite other bids from Bayern Munich, Napoli, Milan or Premier League sides.
