Chicago Fire open talks to sign Neymar from Al Hilal | OneFootball

According to an exclusive report from French media Foot Mercato, Chicago Fire have opened up talks with Neymar Jr. (32).

Chicago Fire have reportedly entered into discussions with the Brazilian international and are thought to be keen on offering him a two-year contract. Foot Mercato clarifies that the conversations are in the early days of what could be a long process for his signature.

The former Paris Saint-Germain star has struggled with serious fitness issues since leaving the French capital for Saudi Arabia ahead of the 2023/24 season. Neymar has only managed to play seven games in total since making the move to Al Hilal.

Five appearances last season and two this campaign before he picked up a new injury has left a sizable problem for the Middle Eastern club which spent 101 million euros on the player’s salary in 2024 alone.

Neymar still aims to play in the upcoming World Cup which will take place in the United States (as well as Mexico and Canada).
