According to Florian Plettenberg, Chelsea’s pursuit of Eintracht Frankfurt forward Hugo Ekitiké (22) remains unaffected despite being in advanced talks to sign another striker this summer. The Premier League club are set to complete a deal worth £30m to sign Liam Delap (22) from Ipswich Town.

Chelsea are not the only club pushing to sign the former Paris Saint-Germain striker this summer. Liverpool have also opened talks to sign the Frenchman, who is valued by the Bundesliga club at €100m. However, the UEFA Conference League winners are said to be in more advanced talks than the Merseyside outfit, who are pursuing more important targets like Florian Wirtz.

An influx of strikers

The recruitment drive at Stamford Bridge doesn’t look to be slowing down, and despite Enzo Maresca preferring a system with one striker, it appears the Blues could complete three signings in the striking department this window. In addition to Delap and Ekitiké, Chelsea are aiming to complete a deal that would see Emanuel Emegha join the club from Strasbourg in 2026, Fabrizio Romano reports.
