In his preview of today’s match against West Ham, Mauricio Pochettino hinted that both Levi Colwill and Christopher Nkunku could be back to play some part.

He seemed more confident about the former than the latter, but a video posted by Nkunku today has given us hope that he too can play some part.

An Instagram video showing him in action and previewing the game hints strongly that he can be in the mix.

Whether or not Nkunku is ready to start – and we’re 99% certain he will be on the bench at best, at least it’s an extra body out there. Thursday’s win against Tottenham saw us name a team which had not a single outfield player on the bench with a Premier League start to their name. Even a half fit Nkunku is an improvement on that.

You can see the video embedded here and decide for yourself what the message is.:

A chance to make things right ahead of the summer

Nkunku had a very rocky season, let’s face it. He got injured in the final preseason match and didn’t play until the turn of the year.

When he did eventually play, it didn’t go to plan at all. The team was in a bad way, and way too much pressure had been put on Nkunku to come back and change things. He looked half fit and half interested, and in the end had actually lost his place in the team by the time he picked up his latest injury which has kept him out more of less until now.

Even if he only plays a few minutes today, it hopefully means he’s lined up to feature more before the end of the season and begin finally making headway on the his Chelsea career after a season of false starts.
