Chelsea’s Lesley Ugochukwu expected to attract significant interest | OneFootball

Lesley Ugochukwu (21) may not remain at Chelsea beyond this summer, however, he won’t be short of suitors, according to a report from The Athletic.

The Frenchman joined Chelsea from Stade Rennais back in the summer of 2023, however, he has failed to establish himself in a position that the Premier League side are well stocked in. The France youth international has played just 15 games for Chelsea since the move, however, he is coming off the back of a positive loan spell at Southampton.

Despite the club’s relegation back to the EFL Championship, Chelsea have perceived his year with the Saints as positive. The midfielder is also well-liked at Stamford Bridge, however, competition for a position in midfield is already fierce. That competition will only increase with the return of Andrey Santos, who has impressed out on loan at RC Strasbourg Alsace.

Ugochukwu may, therefore, leave, however, Chelsea believe that the midfielder will generate a lot of interest in the summer transfer window.
