Chelsea’s Kendry Páez training with Strasbourg ahead of potential loan | OneFootball

Kendry Páez (17) is training with RC Strasbourg Alsace ahead of a potential move to the Ligue 1 side on loan next season, according to a report from L’Équipe.

Páez has been signed by Chelsea, however, upon the completion of the deal in 2023, reported to be worth €10m, it was decided that he would remain with his current club, Independiente del Valle, in Ecuador. The forward, who currently has 17 caps for the Ecuador national team, will finally make the move to Europe this summer.

He is already in Europe, in fact. As reported by L’Équipe, he began training with Strasbourg on Tuesday and he is now currently being evaluated by manager Liam Rosenior. That evaluation may have some bearing. A loan move is being considered for next season.

Both Strasbourg and parent club Chelsea share the same BlueCo owners. As a result, should RCSA and Chelsea qualify for the same UEFA competition next season, there is the possibility that loan moves between the two clubs will be forbidden, in the same way that Jean-Clair Todibo was forbidden from joining Manchester United from OGC Nice last season. The two clubs qualified for this season’s UEFA Europa League.
