Chelsea submit initial offer worth €50 million plus add-ons for Barcelona academy gem | OneFootball

As we approach the final phase of the summer transfer window, there is much speculation surrounding the future of Fermin Lopez.

The Spanish international has emerged as a late target for Chelsea, who are ready to double the player’s salary.

However, the player has yet to take a final decision on his future, whereas Barcelona are not too keen on selling one of their star players on a cut-price deal.

Chelsea table €50 million offer

In a major development, it appears Chelsea have made a move to sign Fermin Lopez this summer by tabling an offer, reports Mundo Deportivo.

The Premier League giants have proposed a €50 million offer for the services of the Barcelona attacker. In addition to the €50 million, there will be performance-based add-ons.

However, such a deal does not excite Barcelona. In fact, it is way off the desired figure the Catalans are looking for right now.

It was reported earlier that Barcelona are at least looking for a figure of around €60-70 million for the services of Fermin Lopez.

But recent reports suggest that the Catalans have taken a harder stance and have thus raised the valuation to €90 million.

The club, after all, value the player highly, with Hansi Flick being a huge admirer of the versatile attacker, who can operate anywhere across the final third.

The player, for his part, has not made a decision yet, and Chelsea, therefore, have not received any green light from Fermin regarding the transfer.

That means the Blues still have a long way to go if they are to sign the Barcelona attacker in the final days of the transfer window.

But with time running out, Barcelona, too, will be wary of missing out on the opportunity to sell a player who is not a guaranteed starter for an attractive valuation.

So it will be interesting to see how both Barça and Fermin approach this saga as we enter the final few days of the summer transfer window.
