Mikel Arteta’s side could make a move for a highly-rated defender with 20-year-old Rennes centre-back catching their eye.
Arsenal are interested in young centre-back Jeremy Jacquet, according to Fabrizio Romano. The France Under-21 international is regarded as a top prospect. The Gunners believe he could succeed William Saliba or Gabriel in the future.
Meanwhile, Dutch defender Jorrel Hato has completed a move to the Premier League. The 19-year-old has now been announced as a Chelsea player after completing a £37.5 million move from Ajax.
Elsewhere, Al Hilal are pushing to sign Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez, according to The Athletic. The Saudi side have not submitted a bid yet but that is expected in the coming days.
At the same time, Sky Sports Italia report that AC Milan are making an attempt to sign the striker. Liverpool are looking to sell the forward after completing the signing of Hugo Ekitike and as they continue their pursuit of Alexander Isak.
However, Milan are struggling in negotiations with the Uruguayan. The Italian giants could turn their attention to Manchester United’s Rasmus Hojlund, who they view as an alternative.
The Daily Mail report that United would be willing to let Hojlund go for as little as £30 million this summer. The Danish striker has also been linked with a switch to RB Leipzig, with Benjamin Sesko potentially going the other way.
The Slovenian striker was notably absent from all pictures as Leipzig released their latest kit. United and Newcastle are continuing in their battle to land the forward.
United are also continuing in their efforts to offload winger Alejandro Garnacho, with Chelsea links growing. “Garnacho is a really talented boy,” said Ruben Amorim, “But sometimes things don’t work out. You cannot explain specifically what it is. It’s clear he wants a different thing with a different leadership.”
Meanwhile, according to AS, Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to replace Heung-min Son with Real Madrid’s Rodrygo. Spurs’ captain announced his intention to leave the club yesterday and Rodrygo would be a dream replacement for the South Korean.
Thomas Frank’s side have successfully added Joao Palhinha to their squad. The holding midfielder has joined from Bayern Munich on loan until the end of the season. Spurs will have an option to buy the Portuguese international for £27 million.
