The 26-year-old is now set to undergo a medical at the club ahead of a move.

Fellow Blues midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu is also set to leave the club, according to the Athletic.

David Ornstein reports that the 21-year-old is set to travel for a medical with Burnley to complete a permanent move to the newly promoted side.

Chelsea, meanwhile, are continuing to try and reach a deal for RB Leipzig attacking midfielder Xavi Simons.

Simons’ team-mate Benjamin Sesko could also depart, with Sky Sports reporting that Manchester United are expected to make a formal offer for the 22-year-old.

It follows a bid from Newcastle United of around £70m for the Slovenia international, which RB Leipzig have not accepted.

Leipzig could look to replace Simons with the signing of Chelsea youngster Tyrique George.

Fabrizio Romano claims the German side are keen on George, who is willing to depart west London due to the current competition for places in the squad.

Newcastle, meanwhile, are also keen on PSG forward Goncalo Ramos, according to the Mail, while AS claim Porto forward Samu Aghehowa is another target.

Sky Sports say wantaway Magpies striker Alexander Isak returned to the club’s training ground to receive treatment on his thigh issue.

Elsewhere, the Athletic also say that Everton are set to make an improved bid for Southampton winger Tyler Dibling.

The latest package is said to be worth in the region of £40m including add-ons, but the Saints are reportedly set to reject the offer as they hold out for a higher fee.

And L’Equipe say Arsenal will face competition for defender Jeremy Jacquet from Premier League and Bundesliga clubs.

The Gunners are said to be keen on the Stade Rennais defender this summer and are considering a move.
